About Michael Anderton

My earliest memory of photography came as a young child watching my grandfather, himself a photographer working for the New Zealand government who always carried a camera wherever he went.
Looking back I always had an interest in photography, carrying a basic camera with me on many adventures throughout the mountains of New Zealand, on whitewater kayaking trips with a waterproof camera tucked into my life-jacket, and for many years taking pictures from the air while paragliding in NZ, Australia, France, the U.K. and Bali.
That was until I moved to Ireland in 2002. I was immediately taken by the beauty of Ireland and it was at that point I decided to take photography more seriously. I bought my first SLR camera and started to explore Ireland recording the beautiful places I found along the way.
Interest in my photographic work has steadily grown to a point in January 2017 where I opened my own gallery in Allenwood, Co. Kildare.
